History Lyrics

I put my life in my words
Then i put my words in my life
Sacrificing my arm
I guess its part of my life
Even if i don't write
And i do it all in my mind
I never saw none of this coming
And now its right before my eyes
Close, ama keep em open
Think to long and miss the moment
I was told you might get one shot
I said even if its blank ama pop, yeah
And now i run the show
I got the plat' but everything isn't gold
My nicknames a hot topic on the road
But truthfully i just wanna know
YeahThe day i pass away
Will you let my name pass away

And jump on to the next craze
Ama carve my name, in them history books
So you can see how history looks
The day i pass away
Will you let my name pass away
And jump on to the next craze
Ama carve my name, in them history books
So you can see how history looks
History looks
History looks
History looks
History looks(Wretch 32)
I gave my life to the game
And never got a death jam
Time goes forward but there's set backs
Its like i took a step forward and leant back
And watch the scene fly past with there jet packs
But i got love for everyone of them artists
Were in the same race
Its whoever runs smartest
Heh, I never feel like I'm drowning
Music makes me fly and my friends keep me grounded
Shh, only the best I'm surrounded
Were all on board
Like chess to a crown king, heh
Were all aiming for the top
The best albums, the outcome. we all gotta drop
Yeah, but we ain't all gonna flop
If united we stand in our Bennett and crops
The sediment rocks
We'll be here forever
Legends don't die, they get rememberedThe day i pass away
Will you let my name pass away
And jump on to the next craze
Ama carve my name, in them history books
So you can see how history looksThe day i pass away (yeah)
Will you let my name pass away
And jump on to the next craze
Ama carve my name, in them history books
So you can see how history looksThe day i pass away (yeah)
Will you let my name pass away
And jump on to the next craze
Ama carve my name, in them history books
So you can see how history looksThe day i pass away
Will you let my name pass away
And jump on to the next craze
Ama carve my name, in them history books

He is signed with Columbia Records of Sony Music UK. He won the Best UK Newcomer at the MOBO Awards 2008. He also won Best Hip-Hop Act at the MOBO Awards 2009. He scored a UK Number 1 hit with Oopsy Daisy in 2009. He has also performed with the likes of JLS, performing at a number of their concerts when they were on tour in early 2010.

His debut album, I Am Chipmunk, was released on 12 October 2009. It has produced four top 25 singles included three consecutive top-ten hits and one chart topper. The album was deemed a success after it debuted at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and reaching platinum sales of over 300,000 copies.

In-line with its record sales, a new platinum edition of the album was released on May 3, 2010 featuring four new songs, including new single Until You Were Gone featuring Dutch singer-songwriter Esmee Denters.

The Oopsy Daisy Songfacts reported that it reached peak position on October 11, 2009, beating The Saturdays in a two-way battle for the top of the charts. Co-incidentally, one line of "Oopsy Daisy" reads "now I feel like Saturdays are weaker."

The single featured vocals from Dutch pop/R&B singer Esmée Denters and was released on 19 April 2010; where it debuted at number 3, marking Chipmunk's fourth consecutive Top 10 hit and his second most successful single behind Oopsy Daisy.

His new album, Transition, is scheduled for release in mid 2011.
