Holocaust Lyrics

Your eyes are almost dead
Can't get out of bed
And you can't sleepYou're sitting down to dress
And you're a mess
You look in the mirrorYou look in your eyes
Say you realizeEverybody goes
Leaving those
Who fall behindEverybody goes
As far as they can
They don't just careThey stood on the stairs
Laughing at your errorsYour mother's dead
She said
"Don't be afraid"Your mother's dead
You're on your own
She's in her bedEverybody goes
Leaving those
Who fall behindEverybody goes
As far as they can

They don't just careYou're a wasted face
You're a sad-eyed lie
You're a holocaust

Alex Chilton (Memphis, Tennessee, December 28, 1950 – New Orleans, Louisiana, March 17, 2010) was an American songwriter, guitarist, singer and producer best known for his work with the pop-music bands The Box Tops and Big Star. Chilton's early commercial sales success in the 1960s as a teen vocalist for The Box Tops was not repeated in later years with Big Star and in his indie music solo career on small labels like Last Call Records, New Rose, Razor and Tie, Bar/None, and others, but he did draw a loyal following in the indie and alternative music fields.
