Honesty Lyrics

Your face when I try to explain
I didnt think youd take it personally
Im not saying every word in every line
Goes from the moment lost in timeYou should know me better than that
If I wanted to leave I wouldnt look back
Guess what Im really trying to say
Is I wouldnt paint this picture any other wayIm sorry I wrote this song for you
If it makes you feel bad I didnt mean it to
Honesty as a policy doesnt work for you
So it shouldnt beIm sorry I wrote this song at all
If it makes you unsure, dont listen anymore
Honesty as a policy doesnt work for you
And its clear to seeShow me whats good for you
'Cos youre good for meSomehow you take the easy way out
Is it better to sing or do we have to shout?
This time when you look in my eyes
We can build on the truth, not secrets and liesYou should know me better than that
If I wanted to leave I wouldnt look back

Guess what Im really trying to say
Is I wouldnt paint this picture any other wayIm sorry I wrote this song for you
If it makes you feel bad I didnt mean it to
Honesty as a policy doesnt work for you
So it shouldnt beIm sorry I wrote this song at all
If it makes you unsure, dont listen anymore
Honesty as a policy doesnt work for you
And its clear to seeShow me whats good for you
'Cos youre good for meIt was never my intention
That my words would hurt you so
I'm askin' you to tell me
'Cos I really wanna knowIm sorry I wrote this song for you
If it makes you feel bad I didnt mean it to
Honesty as a policy doesnt work for you
So I shouldnt beIm sorry I wrote this song at all
If it makes you unsure, dont listen anymore
Honesty as a policy doesnt work for you
And its clear to seeShow me whats good for you
'Cos youre good for me
Show me whats good for you
'Cos youre good for me
