Honeycomb Lyrics

[All:]Ice cream, honeycomb, cherry sundae
Sugar baby, cinnamon, berry sorbet
Tastin’ like cake cut on ya birthday
[Lyndriette:]But it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
[Brave:]RichGirl
Get it
You could get it too
Holdin’ every card like poker players do
Lookin’ out the corner of my eyes to make sho

There ain’t nothin’ about to pop off on the low
The girls in the south, they get the boys inspired
Sparkle in the nighttime like a bonfire
The booty and the eyes and lips are all real
But tips on my nails sometimes
That’s a deal, boo
[All:]Ice cream, honeycomb, cherry sundae
Sugar baby, cinnamon, berry sorbet
Tastin’ like cake cut on ya birthday
[Lyndriette:]But it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
[Lyndriette:]The candy’s in my hand probably want some
My mama said share but keep it hid is more fun so I
Keep it for fall and I
Keep it for winter but in
Spring I might bust it out, uh
Just so that you remember
Me and my crew get it
Oooh, no, we not beginners
Ladies do what you do
Make the world surrender
Ain’t it a pity I stay so gritty
Can’t give ’em no time even though we got history
[All:]Ice cream, honeycomb, cherry sundae
Sugar baby, cinnamon, berry sorbet
Tastin’ like cake cut on ya birthday
[Lyndriette:]But it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
[All:]Ayyyyyyyo
Ayyyyyyyo
[Lyndriette:] All my people on the east coast
Scream it, scream it out if ya up in here (ayyy)
All my people on the west coast
Scream it, scream it out if ya up in here (ayyy)
[All:]All my people overseas, if you with me
Scream it out if ya up in here (ayyy)
All my people all over the world
Scream it out if ya up in here (ayyy)
[SeVen:]Yeahhhhh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeahhhhhhh
Yeahhh
[All:]Nope (it’s not a buffet)
Nope (it’s not a buffet)
Nope (it’s not a buffet)
[Lyndriette:]
Said it’s not for everybody (nope)
It’s not a buffet
[All:]Chop, chop, chop at the corner nail shop
Bubble gum, bubble gum, bubbles get popped like
If you like to dance and sing a little tune
Be a RichGirl, we blowin’ like birthday balloons
Chop, chop, chop at the corner nail shop
Bubble gum, bubble gum, music is pop like
If you like to dance and sing a little tune
Be a RichGirl, we blowin’ like birthday balloons
[Brave:]But they ain’t for everybody

The man who popularized wordless vocal choruses and light orchestral accompaniment on a mix of popular standards and contemporary hits of the 1960s, Ray Conniff was a trombone player for Bunny Berigan's Orchestra and Bob Crosby's Bobcats before being hired as an arranger by Mitch Miller for Columbia Records in 1954. After he wrote the charts for several sizeable Columbia hits during the mid-'50s, Conniff became a solo artist as well, applying his arranging techniques to instrumental easy-listening for the booming adult album market.
