Hope Lyrics

Yeah, uh uh
Yeah yeah
Uh uh uh
Uh uh uhI remember wasn't so long ago
We had a one room shack and the living was low
And my mama by herself, raised me and my bro
Wasn't easy but she did it with the little that flowed
Worked hard got us off to school everyday
Keep our eyes on the star though the skies were gray
Gave us drive to survive really showed us the way
Now I really understand what she was trying to sayShe said, "Son there'll be times when the tides are high
And the boat may be rocky, you can cry
Just never give up
And you must never give
In this life you can lead if you only believe
In order to achieve what you need
You can never give up
You can never give up"And it's hope that keeps me holdin' on and on

It's just hope that makes me carry on, on and onHome grown couldn't have made it alone
I got a wonderful life, two kids of my own
With a strong foundation that was carved in stone
Thank my moma for the love that made my house a home
Makes me wonder sometimes if it was meant to be
All this for a humble little guy like me
An' all I ever really wanted was a family
To teach my kids the same values that she gave to meShe said, "Son there'll be times when the tides are high
And the boat may be rocky, you can cry
Just never give up
And you must never give
In this life you can lead if you only believe
In order to achieve what you need
You can never give up
You can never give up"And it's hope that keeps me holdin' on and on
It's just hope that makes me carry on, on and onAh ah ah
We nah turn no stepper, things a go better
Never let yourself be overcome by the pressure
Cool yah me bredda, have faith instead
Sid dung and a watch and all a fight one another
Blaze like fire, nah go retire
God nah sleep and a him inspire
We fi reach higher a that him require
Haffi mek we mark before the time expireAnd it's hope that keeps me holdin' on and on
It's just hope that makes me carry on, on and on
And it's hope that keeps me holdin' on and on
And it's hope that makes me carry on, on and on
Hope that keeps me carry on
And it's hope, that keeps me holdin' on
It's hope that makes me carry on
Hope, holdin' on, holdin' on

Shaggy is the name of, at least, two artists.
1, Shaggy (born October 22, 1968, in Kingston, Jamaica as Orville Richard Burrell), is a Jamaican reggae artist who takes his nickname from Scooby-Doo's companion. He is especially notable for his distinctive sub-baritone voice.

His family immigrated to the United States and they settled in the neighborhood of Flatbush, Brooklyn, located in New York City, New York, USA.

In 1988, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War.

On his return from Iraq, he decided to pursue his music career and his first hit in 1993: "Oh Carolina", was a dancehall re-make of a ska hit by the Folkes Brothers. The same year, Shaggy appeared on Kenny Dope's hip hop album "The Unreleased Project". He worked together with producers such as Sting Intl., Don One (who cut his first track), Lloyd 'Spiderman' Campbell and Robert Livingston. He had further big hits, including "Boombastic" in 1995.

He then had a major comeback in 2001, featuring worldwide number-one hit singles "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel," the latter of which was built around Merrilee Rush's 1968 hit "Angel of the Morning" (which was remade in 1981 by Juice Newton). The album Hot Shot, from which those cuts came, would hit number one on the Billboard 200.

However, his 2002 release Lucky Day, and the 2005 album Clothes Drop failed to match Hot Shot's success.

Shaggy performed the theme for Showtime (film), a 2002 movie.

2, Shaggy, a swedish rock/blues rock band from the 1970's. Released one album, "Lessons for beginners"
