Horse and Crow Lyrics

A horse and crow were some pretty good friends
Living from the same suitcase
Spoke in tongues that we couldn't understand
That's the way it was back in those days
All that summer long they were traveling through the South
Chow mein, and Bolivia, and living hand-to-mouth
They were careless then
And the road stretched on and on
Well, it's a wonder and a shame
All those careless days have gone
First this happened, that happened and everything changed
Crow, she flew off in a straight line
Leaving Horse, took a job making twenty bucks a day
For some reason started looking for a sign
And everywhere he looked, everything was white
Sometimes he thought he saw something moving in the light
They were careless then
And the road stretched on and on

Well, it's a wonder and a shame
All those careless days have gone
Well, it's a wonder and a shame
All those careless days have gone
Seemed like eons, but you could measure it in weeks
Crow's horse sense was dead
After passing through the capitals of the Western world unleashed
She was heading for Las Vegas to put everything on red
This world sets a price on love that kinda won't forget
And the ending of this story, well, it hasn't happened yet
They were careless then
And the road stretched on and on
Well, it's a wonder and a shame
All those careless days have gone
Well, it's a wonder and a shame
All those careless days have gone
Yes, it's a wonder and a shame
How their road stretched on and on
They were careless then
Now those careless days are gone
Well, they were careless then
All those careless days have gone
