Hostile World Lyrics

I sit in silence here alone
An agony I've made my own
An empty chasm in the dark
Is where I choose to hide my heartSomething that I've lived with
For so very long
I've never had an interest
In what's right or wrongDeviant or so I'm told
Villainous or so extolled
A heightened animosity
Distorting everything I seeThis world has closed its doors to me
Sat me in the balcony
Now my only recompense
A gift I've honed to masteryTainted eyes that strain to see
I'm not in prison but I'm never free
A curse that somehow has followed me
I'm not in prison but I'm never freeLooking out this dirty window
From inside my trophy room
Hostile world, I've been born into

Hostile world, I've been consumedI'm the one you sat behind you
The one you've chosen to neglect
Now I've chosen to confront you
You're the wrong I must correctI'm the one you sat behind you
The one you've chosen to neglect
Now I've chosen to confront you
You're the wrong I must correctTainted eyes that strain to see
I'm not in prison but I'm never free
A curse that somehow has followed me
I'm not in prison but I'm never free
Oh, never free
Oh, never free

Members include Ted Leonard (vocals), Doug Ott (guitar), Ed Platt (bass), Bill Jenkins (keyboards) and Sean Flanegan (drums). The band combines elements of progressive rock/metal, classic and melodic rock, and at times jazz or blues sounds in their music. They are often compared to other prog-rock bands such as Dream Theater, Rush or Kansas. Their debut album, A Blueprint Of The World, was partly produced by Steve Rothery of Marillion.
