How Could I? Lyrics

Memories and silence fills each room
Overwhelming heavy as the tidal waves consume
Buried underneath the dust and gloom
Relics are reminders of my family of twoPictures of a happy bride and groom
Ferry rides around the harbor on our honeymoon
Wedding gifts of pots and pans, sleeping while were holding hands
As gracie lays upon us as we spoonHow could I ever be so blind that I could not see?
How could I ever stray from what is meant so much to me?
How could I ever gain her trust without the guarantees
Of who I am or where I'll be?So now we live in fear of the unknown
Insecure and skepticle her trust in me was blown
Despite the past we face we both have grown
Through the pain to find the strength together or aloneHow could I ever be so blind that I could not see?
How could I ever stray from what is meant so much to me?
How could I ever gain her trust without the guarantees
Of who I am or where I'll be, yeah? How could I ever be so blind that I could not see?
How could I ever stray from what has meant so much to me?
How could I ever gain her trust without the guarantees

Of who I am or where I'll be?

Oleander is a post-grunge band from Sacramento, California. Its name is derived from the poisonous wildflower oleander. Oleander was formed by Fred Nelson Jr. (drums), Doug Eldridge (bass guitar), Ric Ivanisevich (guitar) and Thomas Flowers (vocals, guitar) in the mid-90s. Their debut was Oleander, an EP released on Fine Records in 1996, which they followed with the full-length album Shrinking the Blob in 1997. The song "Down When I'm Loaded" became a regional hit, and Oleander signed with Universal Records.
