How Could You? Lyrics

I'm addicted to
Every single thing you do
I'm dying insideYou're sucking me down
Makes me feel I'm gonna drown
It's killing me now
All you do is bring me downAll this time, in all your lies
It has been
No surprise now, realize nowHow could you cheat on me?
Then turn your back on me
You told me all the lies
And hypnotized, and I believedHow could you cheat on me?
Then turn your back on me
You told me all the lies
And hypnotized, and I believedI'm coming to know
All the secrets that you hold
You think I'm a fool and don't know what you do
A look in your eyes and I finally realizeAll this time, in all your lies
It has been no surprise now, realize nowHow could you cheat on me?

Then turn your back on me
You told me all the lies
And hypnotized, and I believedHow could you cheat on me?
Then turn your back on me
You told me all the lies
And hypnotized, and I believedAnd now with all your pride
You still can't look me in the eye
And now in all your shame
You can't even speak my nameHow could you cheat on me?
Then turn your back on me
You told me all the lies
And hypnotized, and I believedHow could you cheat on me?
Then turn your back on me
You told me all the lies
And hypnotized, and I believedI'm addicted to
Every single thing you do
I'm dying inside

The group was formed in September 1996 in Memphis, Tennessee. While Memphis was an unlikely place for a grunge / nü-metal band, Saliva was able to follow in the tradition of crafting hard rock songs in radio-friendly format popularized by the likes of Creed and Nickelback. After competing in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, where they advanced to the final round in New York City, the group self-released their self-titled debut album which sold over 10,000 copies in their region, prompting Island Records to take notice.
