Hurry Up (Now Tell Me) Lyrics

Here I sit with you like
The days got no hours
Well I find it kind of easy, though 'cause I'm lazy
It's a good day for showersSo, don't worry whatever, I might do, no hurry
For I've been a telling you, I'm feeling just fine
And I really couldn't care less this time
Tell me how many more will there be?Hurry up now tell me, my, my, my
My girlPatience is a virtue
As rewarding as a new love in spring
But suddenly forgotten when a man
Gets caught in his own dreamOutspoken faces again beware
The token of wine in a glass could dare you just enough
Who's joking? And when should I call your bluff?
And how many more will there be? Hey nowHurry up now tell me, my, my, my
My girlSo, don't worry whatever, I might do, no hurry
I've been a telling you I'm feeling just fine
And I really couldn't care less this time
Tell me how many more will there be?Oh, hurry up now tell me, my, my, my

Poco, founded in 1968 by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Richie Furay and Jim Messina (both inducted 1997 with Buffalo Springfield), was one of the earliest in the "country rock" genre that was later commercially popularized by bands such as the Eagles. The band was completed by Rusty Young (pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo and mandolin) Randy Meisner on bass and George Grantham on drums. Poco's 1969 debut, "Pickin' Up the Pieces" (the title being a reference to the break-up of Buffalo Springfield), received some critical acclaim but generated very litttle enthusiasm commercially.
