I Ain't Got Nobody Lyrics

I ain't got no-bo-dy
And no-body cares for me
That's why I'm sad and lone-ly
Won't somebody come and take a chance with me?
I sing sweet sweet love songs all the time
Won't you come be my sweet ba-by mine
I ain't got no-body
And no-body cares for me
'Cause I ain't got no-body (I ain't got nobody)
and no-body cares for me
That's why I'm so sad and lonely (baby)
Won't some-body come take a chance with me
'Cause I sing sweet love songs all the time

Won't you come and be my sweet baby-mine
I ain't got no-body (nobody baby)
and no-bo-dy cares for me
I ain't got no-bo-dy
No-bo-dy cares for me
And I'm sad and lone-ly
Won't some-body take a chance with me
I'll sing sweet love songs all the time
If you'll come and be my sweet ba-by mine
I ain't got no-body.
And no-body, no-body cares for me

Bennett Lester Carter (August 8, 1907 – July 12, 2003) was an American jazz alto saxophonist, trumpeter, composer, arranger, and bandleader. He was a major figure in jazz from the 1930s to the 1990s, and was recognised as such by other jazz musicians who called him King. As a youth, Carter lived in Harlem around the corner from Bubber Miley who was Duke Ellington's star trumpeter. Carter was inspired by Miley and bought a trumpet, but when he found he couldn't play like Miley he traded the trumpet in for a saxophone.
