I Am Better Without You Lyrics

Sometimes I need your sex
Like a junkie needs a hard drug
We are poison to each other
We are like opposites attract on crack
Sometimes you hit me in my sleep
We are poison to each other
We will never be friends
We are a bad movie that never ends
You call my house
Wasted late at night
Want to come over and get in my bed
Maybe you just want to fight
Please, please, please, baby
Leave me alone
I know you blame me
For a not so happy home
I cheated on you, you cheated on me
We will never be happy until

We see each other toothless
And crazy living on the street
You call my name
I kind of lose my mind
I just can't help myself
You are my favorite waste of time
You call my name
I crave the pain that only you can do
The voice inside it tells me
I am better without you
I am better without you
I am better without the shame
Yeah, the only thing I meant was sex with you
The voice inside it tells me
You are better without me too
I will never admit it to myself
I will never admit it to you
When I hear your name
It takes me back to the day we met
We didn't have to try so hard
We had nothing to forget
I hear your name
I think about the changes we refuse to see
Like the fact that I don't like you
And you don't like me
You call my name
I lose my fucking mind
I kiss my daughter goodnight
I drive to your house
And I set myself on fire
You call my name
I crave the pain that only you can do
I will gladly take the blame
If it will make you go away
I know I'm not the only one
That feels this way
My cat doesn't like you
She thinks I'm better without you
Your boyfriend says I'm awesome
He says I'm better without you
All our friends that knew us in the day
They tell me I am better without
All the games you play
I am better without you
I am better without you
I am better without the shame
You make me cringe when I hear
All the stupid things you say
I am better without the drama
I am better without you
(You are better without me too)
I am better without you
(You are better without me too)
I am better without all the hate
I don't want to see your face and
You don't want to hear my name
We will meet again someday
We will stand there face to face
You will smile at me, and I will smile at you
Then we'll turn and walk away

Everclear is a rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, USA, in 1992. For most of its existence, Everclear consisted of Art Alexakis (b. 12 April 1962, Los Angeles, California, USA; vocals, guitar), Craig Montoya (b. 14 September 1970; bass, vocals) and Greg Eklund (b. 18 April 1970; drums). Eklund replaced original drummer Scott Cuthbert in 1994. Montoya and Eklund departed the band in 2003, but Alexakis has continued performing as Everclear with a new lineup.

After a solo tour in the fall of 2003, Alexakis decided to continue with Everclear, organizing a new band that made its debut in March of 2004. The new lineup consisted of bass player Sam Hudson, guitarist Dave French, and drummer Eric Bretl. In the summer of 2004, the band added keyboard player Josh Crawley, and swapped Bretl for former Everclear drum tech Brett Snyder. The new lineup released its first recording, a cover of Woody Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land, that summer. A self-released EP of performances recorded for XM Satellite Radio called Closure was given out at shows in the fall of 2004.

Free of a major label, Alexakis spent the ensuing year and half slowly recording material for a new Everclear release. He admitted that the time after the breakup of the original lineup served as a "wake up call", during which he suffered his third divorce and a filing for bankruptcy. Alexakis announced the completion of the album in early 2006,titled Welcome To The Drama Club. The new band is now on Eleven Seven Music.

In August of 2008, drummer Brett Snyder left the band after four years. He was then replaced by Tommy Stewart, who previously played in bands Fuel and Godsmack.
