I Am My Father's Daughter Lyrics

I felt you watching me
Eyes dripping like a drink
Past the conversation
That fell from my lipsThere's always a wordless sound
That goes spinning wide and round
Like the second coming
Which side are you onI'll give you my admission
I'll give you eyes of gold
When is it the right time
To never do what you're toldAnd so the story goes
Don't ever regret your past
Why is it looking back
I found my way homeEven when it's for free it's never enough
And i know i gave it all to you
So you get what you want it's never enough
Enough, enough, enoughI am my father's daughter
You'll never break me down
I fell so hard when I hit that floor

Wearing my death veil my eyes shut so tight
They've got me surrounded
You know you're out for the nightI'll give you my admission
I'll give you eyes of gold
When is it the right time
To never do what you're toldAnd so the story goes
Don't ever regret your past
Why is it looking back
I found my way homeEven when it's for free it's never enough
And i know i gave it all to you
And you get what you want it's never enough
And I know I believed in you
Even when you bleed it's never enough
And I know I gave it to you
So you get what you want it's never enough
And I know I believed in youIt's all right lay me down again
All night there's much more I can make of itEven when it's for free it's never enough
And i know i gave it all to you
And you get what you want it's never enough
And I know I believed in youEven when you bleed it's never enough
And I know I gave it to you
I gave it to you
So you got to believe, it's never enough
And I know I want it to you
You'll break me down...
I'm tired of losing
I am my father's daughter

Juliette and the Licks was an american rock band formed in the United States in 2003 by american actor Juliette Lewis. Other band members included guitarist Craig Fairbaugh and guitarist Emilio Cueto, bassist Jason Womack and drummer Ed Davis. Their popular songs include "You're Speaking My Language" and "Hot Kiss". The band broke up in 2009. Juliette and the Licks became a reality when Lewis accompanied Patty Schemel, drummer for Hole, to a Blondie concert and found herself staring at fate. She became instantly inspired by the “live” element of the show and knew it was her calling.
