I Don't Need It to Rain Lyrics

I'm so happy mama you've come home
I'm so happy they let you come home
I know that you've been turning tricks
Up and down the avenue
And I've been reading it
In the local newsI don't need it to rain anymore
I don't need it to rain anymoreNow don't you rain uptown
Don't you rain downtown
No more
Don't you rain downtown
Oh please
(I looked for you all over town)
Trying to find you now
I even looked down at the store
But you were nowhere to be foundI heard you talking
(To an undercover tinsel queen)
But I love her anyway
I never do get tired of love

When she's around
So happy, so happy
She came home
I don't need it to rain
Not any moreNow don't you rain uptown
Don't you rain dowtown
No more

Timothy Charles Buckley III (February 14, 1947 – June 29, 1975) was an experimental vocalist and performer who incorporated jazz, psychedelia, funk, soul, and avant-garde rock, in a short career spanning the late 1960s and early 1970s, ending with his death at age 28 from an alcohol-heroin overdose. Buckley often regarded his tenor voice as an instrument, a talent most noticeable on his albums Happy Sad, Lorca, and Starsailor.
