I Don't Wanna Care Right Now (feat. MDMA) Lyrics

I'm not a choo choo, I'm a tugboat
Hater pray to god that I turn slow
Like I'm sipping on purple
But I ain't on your glowI'm in a whole 'nother circle
Tryna keep it clean like church clothes
Said that respect was something had to work for
But that ain't gonna work thoughGet your respect but lose all my worth, no
You can get that, get a hearse, go
On eve 48, you'll find a killer in the first floor
It was me, boy, to commercialsFeeling out of place like PETA at a fur store
So I left with a couple dozen fur coats
Said I could never break away from your hold
Watch me turn thoughSaid that I blew it like Turquoise
Just mad, hear it all in your word choice
Know it hurts but I really don't care though
Let me rub it in, get it all up in that holeI can see the morning creeping up on us
It's like the world's in my hands now
I'm feeling so rebellious

From all of the envy crowding around meI don't wanna care right now
(I don't wanna care, don't wanna care right now)
I don't wanna care right now
(I don't wanna care, don't wanna care right now)Oh oh, God over everything
You fly but stars over everything
And I'm one of them, yeah, I'm one of them
Oh, I'm not one, well, I'm a hundred thenI'm a hundred mother loving stars
You're no lights, you're an undercover car
I'm an ambulance and a fire truck
And some strobe lights tied upShining all in your eyes
And all out of yours and all into mine
Lights and stars is all intertwined
And I'm feeling like Malcolm looking all out the blindsAny means, any means
And you can do anything, anything
And the flow tight, skinny jeans, skinny jeans
Hit you like Pacquiao, Philippines, PhilippinesI can see the morning creeping up on us
It's like the world's in my hands now
I'm feeling so rebellious
From all of the envy crowding around meI don't wanna care right now
(I don't wanna care, don't wanna care right now)
I don't wanna care right now
(I don't wanna care, don't wanna care right now)Y'all know I'm a looter, I'm a Lupe
Yes, sir
(Who they?)
They yester and I'm today
And tomorrow, hoorayCan I get a hip-hip for the new K-I-N-G?
Nigga, I am he
Got the game in the clutch like I am G
You ball, little boy, but I N-B-AWith a hand for the world
You a boy band with a dance and a twirl
I'm a rock star with a band so thorough
Big ass tour bus that's jammed full of girlsTell 'em what it do
Holler from the bottom, yell it from the roof
Tell 'em what it do
I don't care about your curfew, I'll tell you when I'm through, boyI can see the morning creeping up on us
It's like the world's in my hands now
I'm feeling so rebellious
From all of the envy crowding around meI don't wanna care right now
(I don't wanna care, don't wanna care right now)
I don't wanna care right now
(I don't wanna care, don't wanna care right now)Tell 'em what it do
Yell it from the bottom, yell it from the roof, boy
Tell 'em what it do
Holler from the bottom, yell it from the roof, boy
Tell 'em what it do
Holler from the bottom, yell it from the roof, boy
Tell 'em what it do
Holler from the bottom, yell it from the roof, boyI don't wanna, I don't wanna
I don't wanna care right, care right now
I don't wanna, I don't wanna
I don't wanna care right, care right now

Wasalu Muhammad Jaco (born February 16, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois), better known by his stage name Lupe Fiasco, is a Grammy Award-winning American hip-hop artist and producer. He first became known to the mainstream hip-hop community in 2005 when he appeared on Kanye West's album Late Registration on the track "Touch the Sky." In 2006 Lupe released his debut album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor on Atlantic Records, and in December 2007 he released his second full length album, Lupe Fiasco's The Cool. His next studio album, entitled Lasers, was released on March 8th 2011 after a protest against Atlantic's decision not to release it.

The Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free) Songfacts reports that Fiasco’s first single off his fourth studio album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 debuted on May 21, 2012. On "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)," he spits rhymes about aspects of modern American life he doesn’t like such as "Suicide bombers and prosperity gospels, emaciated models, with cocaine and blood pouring out their nostrils” as well as socio-political problems in Ghana and the invasion of Iraq.

Lupe has previously been on label Epic with his group Da Pak and then signed a solo deal with Arista. His years at Arista only led to the 2003 promo single "Pop Pop" as well as guest appearances on singles from Tha' Rayne (2002's "Kiss Me" and 2003's "Didn't You Know") and K Fox (2003's "This Life"), then Arista folded in 2004 and Lupe was signed to Atlantic Records.
