I Gave Up All I Had Lyrics

I gave up all I had.
Everything that made me glad.
I gave up all I had for this. Whoa no.
I gave up all I had.
All the good things that made me glad.
I gave up all I had for you. Whoa no.
She was good. Did what she knew she should.
She never ran out on me. I don't believe she could.
But all you do is hurt me. Just like she said she would.
I'd go back to my baby if I just thought I could.
I gave up all I had.
All the good things that made me glad.
I gave up all I had for you. Whoa no.
I walked the street all night. Longing to hold her tight.

Wanting to hear her tell me that everything's all right.
but you won't let me go. You follow behind me still.
Why don't you leave me alone and let me do what I will?
I gave up all I had.
All the good things that made me glad.
I gave up all I had for you. Whoa no.
She had four beautiful children and they were nice to me.
They loved and respect poor me, but I had to earn that love.
They didn't have no daddy. When I first met the girl,
I took them under my wing. That's when we fell in love.
I gave up all I had.
All the good things that made me glad.
I gave up all I had for you. Whoa no.
I gave up all I had.
All the good things that made me glad.
I gave up all I had for you. Whoa no.
