I Go Ape Lyrics

The moon is bright above
Oh, what a night for love
And as I hold you near
I whisper in your earI go ape every time I see you smile
I'm a ding dong gorilla and I'll carry you cave man style
I'm gonna bump you on the head and love you all the whileWell, I'm a monkey's uncle who's a cousin to a chimpanzee
Like I was reelin' and a rockin' and a swingin' from a coconut tree
Oh, honey can't you see you bring out the monkey business in meRanga tanga ring ting tong, I'm related to old King Kong
Honey won't you say you're mine
With a honky tonky monkey shine
When you hold my hand I'm a pre-historic man, I go ape!Like a barrel on monkeys on an abadaba honeymoon
I go squealin' and a screechin' and a howlin' like a big baboon
Well baby I'll explode if you don't come and kiss me soon, yae yaaOhh, honey you know that I'm gonna be true to you
I'll keep you in bananas and bring you coconuts too
And we'll settle down in the nearest county zoo, wohRanga tanga ring ting tong, I'm related to old King Kong, woo
Honey won't you say you're mine
With a honky tonky monkey shine
When you hold my hand I'm a pre-historic man, I go ape!

Neil Sedaka (born 13 March 1939 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American pop singer, pianist, and songwriter often associated with the Brill Building era of songwriting. He teamed up with Howard Greenfield to write many major hit songs for himself and others.

Sedaka wrote his 1959 hit "Oh! Carol" about his then-girlfriend, Carol Klein, later to become Carole King. In 1963, King released a humorous answer entitled "Oh Neil".

The Laughter In the Rain Songfacts says Sedaka's hits dried up when The Beatles arrived, but then he teamed up with the lyricist Philip Cody and had a a number 1 hit with "Laughter In The Rain." It re-ignited Sedaka's career and he had 6 more Top-40 hits in America by 1977.

Sedaka's voice is in the tenor range.
