I Love The Now Lyrics

By: jimmy buffett, carrie fisher
1986
It's the reason for livin'
But that's what I'm givin'
I don't need a history lesson
To tell me whyI mean I'm in no hurry
To hustle and scurry
There's so much to see
And life ain't gonna pass me byTomorrow's right around the corner
I'll get there somehow
But I'm stuck in the meantime
And I love the nowChorus:
I love the now (all the faces and places)
I love the now (all the rats and the races)
It's the only place I've ever been
It's the only way that I know howDon't talk about your superstitions
Don't talk about your cats meow
But don't talk about tomorrow tonight

I love the nowIt's true we've got problems
How do we solve 'em
Better break out your thinkin' cap
And your old dunce coneSearchin' for answers like interpretive dancers
She asks me for reasons
Then tells me to wait for the toneThe whole damn world's gone crazy
The moon is jumpin' over the cow
How can you help but
Not love the nowChorus:
I love the now (all the ranting and raving)
I love the now (all the cussin' and craving)
It's the only mess I've ever seen
It's the only place where I know howDon't talk about your futuristic
Don't talk about your "thee's" and "thou's"
Don't talk about tomorrow tonight
I love the now(horn and harp instrumental)Sittin' on 'g'
Waitin' on 'o'
I'm exactly where
I want to goChorus:
I love the now (all the pain and the pleasure)
I love the now (all the blood and the treasure)
It's the only circus that I know
It's the only ring where I'm allowedTalk about a standing ovation
Everybody take a bow
But don't talk about tomorrow tonight
I love the nowBut don't talk about tomorrow tonight
I love the now
No don't talk about tomorrow tonight
I love the now

Jimmy Buffett (born December 25, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, United States) is a singer/songwriter, best known for his "island escapism" lifestyle and music including hits such as "Margaritaville" and "Come Monday". He has a rabid, but genial, cult following known as "Parrotheads." They call the youngest members "Parakeets."

Buffett has written three No. 1 best sellers. Tales from Margaritaville and Where Is Joe Merchant? both spent over seven months on the New York Times Best Seller fiction list. His book A Pirate Looks At Fifty went straight to No. 1 on the New York Times Bestseller non-fiction list, making him one of seven authors in that list's history to have reached No. 1 on both the fiction and non-fiction lists. The other six authors who have accomplished this are Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, William Styron, Irving Wallace, Dr. Seuss and Mitch Albom. He also co-wrote two children's books, Jolly Mon and Trouble Dolls, with his eldest daughter, Savannah Jane Buffett.

"A Salty Piece of Land", was released on November 30, 2004, and included a CD single of the same title. The book was a New York Times best seller soon after its release.

His latest book, "Swine Not," hit bookshelves on May 13th. It's a colorful tale about a family that lives in a posh New York hotel while covertly smuggling in their pet pig named Rumpy.

On Jan 25, 2011, he did an unintentional stage dive whilst touring Australia. Thankfully, the good Mr. Buffett is a resilient bloke and was released from hospital the following day and doing fine.
