I Remember Music Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Listen to me partner
I'll speak to you of happiness
I'll tell you about a breakwater
But that was long ago I guessNow I'm on a time schedule
I'm sure you are as well
I don't believe in letters
And I never learned to spell eitherSo you can let on that you knew me
The way I needed to be known
The ghost I am, I was long ago
Because I gave my life to a memory of music

And she just turned her head [Incomprehensible]Listen to me partner
I'll tell you how this life was led
So secretly so quietly
I chase around what doesn't existNow I'm on a time schedule
I'm sure you are as well
I don't believe in letters
And I never learned to spell eitherI'll try to look into the eyes of these newborns
And try to see the hope that you see
And not the vacant and desolate shell
Of experience reflected in me
I gave my life to a memory of music
And she just turned her head
Oh, she just turned her head, oh

Rocky Votolato is an American musician. He was born in rural Texas in 1978, though was raised in the Pacific Northwest. When his former band Lying on Loot disbanded in 1996, Rocky Votolato, along with friends Rudy Gajadhar (drums) and Andrew Hartley (bass), started playing under the name Waxwing. Rocky's younger brother Cody (The Blood Brothers) soon joined the band on second guitar, and the band recorded their debut 7" for Henry's Finest Recordings. In 1999, Second Nature Recordings released their first full-length, entitled 'For Madmen Only'.
