I Swear Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
I swear
I would lock the door if the cops came and tell 'em you gone
I swear
I would rest in eternal sleep if they would let you live a little bit moreI swear
I'd give 'em my right arm, if they would just leave yo alone
Tell the truth, how much do I love ya
Tell the truth, more than you'll ever knowI'd tell you I'm tired of it, but nigga I will always be wit ya
Through hell or hot water it'll be me and you nigga
This can go down in the test of time
Whether Ripley believe it or not, make it happen once in a lifetimeKinda hard to find

Two niggaz that growed up on two different sides of town
That get down like I get down
And done his like I done minesHit it off first time around
And been solid as the foundation under the house
This some, shit for us to brag about
We answered the question and never had to take the time to thank outThat's why I'll ride for my nigga, cry for my nigga
Die for my nigga
Hold ya one hand in the sky for ya nigga
Tell them you gone always rememberI swear
I would lock the door if the cops came and tell 'em you gone
I swear
I would rest in eternal sleep if they would let you live a little bit moreI swear
I'd give 'em my right arm, if they would just leave yo alone
Tell the truth, how much do I love ya
Tell the truth, more than you'll ever knowYou know you one of the reasons I'm still breathin'
'Cause without you I don't know where in the hell I'd be
Homeboy
You know life's been hard at home
Homeboy
That's what made us turn to the streets
HomeboyI think that's what had us claimin' thugs, sellin' drugs
Duckin from the fuckin' police
Indulgin' in boughshe women, foolish niggaz
Young, dumb, and off the leashOutta control, but I wouldn't change it
If I could I would do it the same, if I can do it
But if it wasn't for the game, teachin' us game
We prolly would be stuck with the lames, but DawgSomehow we made it
And I'm glad that I can tell ya today
That my nigga gone always be my nigga
'Cuz that's the way it's pose to beI swear
I would lock the door if the cops came and tell 'em you gone
I swear
I would rest in eternal sleep if they would let you live a little bit moreI swear
I'd give 'em my right arm, if they would just leave yo alone
Tell the truth, how much do I love ya
Tell the truth, more than you'll ever knowSometimes I wanna play some ball
Sometimes I wanna walk through the mall
Sometimes I wanna play some ball
And just walk through the mallSometimes it ain't about the broads
And I just wanna spend some time alone
Sometimes it ain't about the broads
And I just wanna spend some time alone wit my niggazSometimes I wanna hop in the car
And drive till tomorrow
Sometimes I wanna hop in the car
And just drive till tomorrowSometimes I wanna pick the phone
Just to see what's goin' on
Sometimes I gotta pick up the phone
Just to see what's goin' on wit my niggazI swear
I would lock the door if the cops came and tell 'em you gone
I swear
I would rest in eternal sleep if they would let you live a little bit moreI swear
I'd give 'em my right arm, if they would just leave yo alone
Tell the truth, how much do I love ya
Tell the truth, more than you'll ever know

Moses Barrett III (born June 17, 1979 in Greenville, North Carolina), better known by his stage name Petey Pablo, is a rapper, actor and founder of CMG Records. He is best known for his hit singles Raise Up, Show Me The Money and Freek-a-Leek, and for being featured on Ciara's Billboard Hot 100 number one single Goodies. He released his debut album, Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry, in 2001 and his sophomore effort, Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry, in 2004. His highly aniticpated third album, A&R: Anticipated Recordings, is set to be released in January 2010 after a six year absence from the music scene.

Barrett left home aged 13 in 1992 and lived on the streets of Baltimore, and later Raleigh. He was originally signed to Death Row records, releasing only one track with Crooked I. His life on Death Row was short. Petey Pablo was arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina for armed robbery. He also lived in Pasquotank County, North Carolina. He spent six years in prison and on his release moved to New York City, where he met Black Rob and Busta Rhymes, and, according to legend, was signed by the A&R director of Jive Records after hearing him rapping in a club bathroom. After a few guest spots in 2000, his first solo single was "Raise Up" in 2001 at the age of 22, produced by Timbaland, followed by debut album Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry the same year. "Raise Up" was helped by rotation on MTV and heavy play on urban radio, reaching #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the Hot Rap Singles Chart. Noted for its "black" rhythm section, "Raise Up" borrows from Timbaland's preference for African-American instrumentation and helicopters. The release of his second album, Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry, was delayed until 2004. Lead single from the album, the sexually-explicit "Freek-a-Leek" was another major success, reaching #7 in the Hot 100, although little chart success followed. Barrett currently resides in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where he is working under his own label: Carolina Music Group, or CMG. His new album, "A&R: Anticipated Recordings" hits stores in January 2010. The highly anticipated album comes after a six year absence from the music scene. Barrett is calling the album "phenomenal." Many singles are expected to come from this new record such as "Osama," "NC Wzup" and "Fire.
