I Thank You Lyrics

You didn't have to love me like you did
But you did, yes you did and I thank you
You didn't have to squeeze me like you did
But you did, yes you did and I thank youIf you took your love somewhere else
I wouldn't know what it meant to be loved to death
You make me feel, like I've never felt
Kisses so good I've got to holler for helpYou didn't have to squeeze me like you did
But you did, yes you did and I thank you
You didn't have to hold me like you did
But you did, yes you did and I thank youEveryday you find something new
To pull out your bag and burn the dew
You got me tryin' do new things too
Just so I could keep up with you, thank you, babyDidn't have to shake it like you did
But you did, yes you did and I thank you
Didn't have to make it like you did
But you did, yes you did and I thank youAll my life I've been short changed
Without your love baby, it's a crying shame
Now I know what the girls were talking about

When they say that ya, oohI wanna thank you baby
Thank you honey
I've got to thank you, hoo
Baby, yeah

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.
