I Thought The Wreck Was Over Lyrics

[Chorus]
I thought the wreck was over
I thought the fire was out
I thought the storm had passed
And I was safe at last
I thought the wreck was over
But here she comes againLivin' with her liked t'killed me
Living without her might as well
At first I thought I'd died and gone to heaven
In fact I had lived and gone to hell[Chorus]They'll tell you to expect the unexpected
But nobody ever tells you where it's hid
I can't tell you how many times she left me
I lost count the very first time that she didI thought I was movin' fast and gettin' stronger
I thought the coast was clearer
'Till I looked into the mirror
And saw a set of skid marks gettin' longer[Chorus]
