I Wanted Your Love Lyrics

Yeah, your loveAll of the band was on time for rehearsal
And played everything just right
Then came the news telling me not to worry
The show is sellin' out tonightWell, the lights went on and suddenly the crowd began to scream
And as you could well imagine, it was like livin' a dream
Oh, but when the lights went down and the standing, oh, was done
I was just another lonely guy who didn't have no oneI wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your love
Give me your love, give me your love, give me your loveI wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your love
Well well, your loveSo busy daydreaming 'bout you, baby
I didn't even hear the phone
Then, when my friends rang the doorbell it scared me
They said, we're, oh, so glad you're homeYou just won a million dollars and a trip around the world
Better get yourself together and forget about that girl
They thought I was acting crazy not to get excited too
But all the money in the world could never take the place of youI wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your love

I wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your loveYour love, your love, your love
Give me your love, give me your love, give me your love
I want your loveYour love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love baby, your love baby, your loveAll over the city the lights were so pretty
The holiday was filled with cheer
The stars really glistened and lovers were kissin'
It was that special part of the yearSo what a perfect time it was to find someone to say I do
Thought that I could still be happy even though she wasn't you
We had told the world that we were gonna ring the wedding bell
But when I really thought about it, I was lying to myselfI wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your love
I wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your loveI wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your love
I wanted your love, your love baby, your love baby, your love
Your love, your love

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
