I Watch the Cars Lyrics

I watch the cars go back and forth
I watch the cars go back and forth
I watch the cars go back and forth
Sometimes south and sometimes north
I watch the carsI hear them stopping down the street
I hear them stopping down the street
I hear the sound of stocking feet
I wonder who they're going to meetI'm getting drunk inside my house
I see the men inside their shells
I see the men inside their shells
They go to prostitutes as well
Who never mind the way the smell
The prostitutes are paid for it, alrightI hear you're gonna try that too
I hear you're gonna try that too
I hear you're gonna try that too
I wouldn't pay to go to you
I'm getting drunk inside my house again

Robyn Raymond Hitchcock (born 3rd March 1953) is an English singer-songwriter and psych folk guitarist. While primarily a vocalist and guitarist, he also plays harmonica, piano, and bass guitar. Many of Hitchcock's album covers bear his paintings or drawings, and his albums' liner notes sometimes include a printed short story. His live concerts usually include a considerable amount of story-telling, imaginative and surreal ad-libbed monologues in his lyrical style. He is the son of novelist Raymond Hitchcock and the brother of artist Lal Hitchcock.
