I Will Not Be Broken Lyrics

That was then and this is now
I found my way back and here somehow
Knew you'd have to let me go
I told you once, I told you soTake me down
You can hold me but you can't hold what's within
Pull me 'round
Push me to the limit, maybe I may bendBut I know where I'm not going
I will not be broken
I will not be broken
I will not beSomeone other than who I am
I will fight to make my stand
'Cause what is livin' if I can't live free
What is freedom if I can't be meTake me down
You can hold me but you can't hold what's within
Pull me 'round
Push me to the limit, maybe I may bendBut I know where I'm not going
I will not be broken
I will not be brokenI won't let you near it

I will let my spirit fly
Fly high
Oh, take me downTake me down
You can hold me but you can't hold what's within
Pull me 'round
Push me to the limit, maybe I may bendBut we both know I'm not going
I will not be broken
I will not be broken
I will not be broken
I will not be, no no baby

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.
