I Won't Let You Do That to Me Lyrics

Wait a minute, this is where I draw the line
Tell me what's got into you 'cause apparently you've lost your mind
Repetitious fault just can't be overlooked
So I'm reading you your rights in case you misunderstoodThe first time, a mistake
Second time, a bad decision
Third time, there won't be one
'Cause I won't let you do that to meThe first time, a mistake
Second time, a bad decision
Third time, honey, dream on
'Cause I won't let you do that to meDon't think I haven't checked out all your alibies
And the evidence concludes that you're just telling me half the truth
Still I keep giving you the benefit of doubt
'Cause I fell so deep in love with you, I struggle to get aroundSo if you wanna be down for me, I'm gonna be down for you
And if twice you break the rules I've got to move on
You believed your first time, cost you 25 years to life
But I won't wait for a third heartbreak, with my heart it's only twoThe first time, a mistake
Second time, a bad decision
Third time, there won't be one

'Cause I won't let you do that to meThe first time, a mistake
Second time, a bad decision
Third time, honey, dream on
'Cause I won't let you do that to meI don't believe you would mistake me for a fool
So if you're really smart, you better think twice before you move
I'll be too busy watching to hear a word you say
Just don't make the same mistake again and everything's okay[Unverified]The first time, a mistake
Second time, a bad decision
Third time, there won't be one
'Cause I won't let you do that to meThe first time, a mistake
Second time, a bad decision
Third time, honey, dream on
'Cause I won't let you do that to meThe first time, a mistake
Second time, a bad decision
Third time, there won't be one
'Cause I won't let you do that to me

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
