Ice Age Lyrics

Well, I heard the news just the other day
Now I feel there's something I must say
Well, the darkness comes too often
This time, next year, I'll build my coffinMade out of lead so X-Rays cannot see
We gotta be free
Political men they burn their lives out talkin'
We people of the Earth just keep on walkin'Well, we don't know what to say
Only live our lives as slaves
All we can do is race on to the grave
Well, we gotta get awayWell, they're much too old
To care about the future
They're sewing up the past
With shining suturesIt's immortality they crave
Their days are done so now they're brave
Their lives will live in books for fools and slaves
We gotta get away

Jefferson Airplane was a psychedelic rock group formed in San Francisco. It was the first of several Bay Area psychedelic groups of the 1960s to become internationally known. The band was founded by singer Marty Balin and guitarist Paul Kantner in 1965. With the addition of Signe Anderson, their male-female singing style showed their folk music roots plus Balin's love of R&B singing styles. In fact their dual lead vocals were a hallmark of their sound throughout the Airplane's career, as confirmed (to international acclaim) after Grace Slick replaced Signe Anderson as the female singer.
