I'd Like to Take You Out Tonight Lyrics

My only wish is that you dry those tears
Dry those tears
I'd like to take you out tonight
Come on now try a little smile
a while, please respond
I'd like to take you out tonight. You might have good reason to cry
Try and let me help you through.I know you loved him very much
It's such a difficult re-adjustment to make
But then I've always loved you too, it's true
And now you know, can we make it, do I show? You might have good reason to cry
Try and let me help you through. My only wish is that you'll dry those tears
Dry those tears
I'd like to take you out tonightI'd like to take you out tonight
I'd like to take you out tonight
I'd like to take you out tonight.

Clifford Thomas Ward - Born 10 February 1944, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire — 18 December 2001 Clifford T. Ward typified the early 70s bedsitter singer-songwriter with a series of albums that were at best delightful and at worst mawkish. Ward left grammar school before A-levels to work as a clerk, but by 1962 was fronting local beat group Cliff Ward and the Cruisers. The group changed their name to Martin Raynor and the Secrets and made their recording debut for EMI Records in 1965, before recording several more tracks as the Secrets for CBS Records.
