If That's What It Takes Lyrics

Ooh ooh!
I, play the part of a broken heart upon a shell
I played that part so lonely and so well
Thought that love belonged to someone else
Not me and you
Yeah, I know that you've been shattered, you've been bruised
And we both know what it feels like when you lose
But I'd bet my life on a roll of the dice for you
If that's what it takes, that's what I'd do
Tonight's the night, I'm gonna prove it to you
Do I have to break down, baby just to break through
If that's what it takes, then that's what I'd do
If that's what it takes
I, bet you counted all the tears, I bet you've cried
I bet you swore you never let her back inside
'Cause it hurt you way too bad to say goodbye
Now there'll be times when I might put us to the test
And it's hard for broken hearts to just forget

But I'm driving blind I'll lay it all on the line for you
If that's what it takes, that's what I'd do
Tonight's the night, I'm gonna prove it to you
Do I have to break down, baby just to break through
If that's what it takes, that's what I'd do
If that's what it takes
Oh yeah, yea
So, when you feel like jumpin'
Just when your heart starts pumpin'
And you standin' on that ledge
Staring over the edge
I'll be there to talk you down
I'll be there before you hit the ground
If that's what it takes, that's what I'd do
Tonight's the night, I'm gonna prove it to you
Do I have to break down, baby just to break through oh!
If that's what it takes, that's what I'd do
If we take the time to get it right, I know we'll put through
If I talked all my life, I'd prove it to you
If that's what it takes, that's what I'd do
If that's what it takes
I'd do anything baby
Ohh ohh ohh
Oh yeah!
I'll do anything you want me to
Baby for bringing you
It's so bad
Alright
Alright
Alright
Alright
Ohh ohh ohh ohh
Oh oh!
Oh baby!
Oh oh!
Ohh ohh ohh ohh
Oh oh!

Céline Marie Claudette Dion, (born March 30, 1968 in Charlemagne, Quebec) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress. Born to a large, impoverished family, Dion emerged as a teenage star in the French-speaking world after her manager and future husband René Angélil mortgaged his home to finance her first record. In 1990, she released the anglophone album Unison, establishing herself as a viable pop artist in North America and other English-speaking areas of the world. Dion had first gained international recognition in the 1980s by winning both the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival and the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest.[6][7] Following a series of French albums in the early 1980s, she signed on to Sony Records in 1986. During the 1990s, with the help of Angélil, she achieved worldwide success with several English and French albums, becoming one of the most successful artists in music history. However, in 1999 at the height of her success, Dion announced a temporary retirement from entertainment in order to start a family and spend time with her husband, who had been diagnosed with cancer. She returned to the music scene in 2002 and signed a three-year (later extended to almost five years) contract to perform nightly in a five-star theatrical show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.
