If You Wanna Keep an Angel Lyrics

There's one thing that I've learned in this life
The only thing sweeter than laughter of friends
Is the smile of a woman, you do a little something
To please her now and thenI like the nightlife but I don't wanna be
One of those slouched over in the corner guys
Looking for the game that don't come here no more
Sleeping alone at nightI look a little rough but I've got faith
That I still can changeBut I'm no angel, just lucky that I found one
And I never wanna see her slowly flying out of sight
Now I'm not trying to preach it but buddy I believe it
If you wanna keep an angel, you gotta learn to fly rightOh, it goes without saying
That I've never been the kinda fella who'd walk away
From a good time, bar fight
Late night party at a stranger's placeThing is that a woman walked into my life shining
Maybe I'm just bathing in her light
Yeah, I know she deserves someone better than me
And I'm trying to be that guyTruth is this is all new to me
I guess it out of beBut I'm no angel, just lucky that I found one

And I never wanna see her slowly flying out of sight
Now I'm not trying to preach it but buddy I believe it
If you wanna keep an angel, you gotta learn to fly right
If you wanna keep an angel, you gotta learn to fly
You gotta learn to fly right, oh yeah, learn to fly right

Montgomery Gentry is a country music duo, founded in the 1990s, consisting of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. Eddie Montgomery is the older brother of John Michael Montgomery. Some sources say that Troy Gentry is the son of Bobbie Gentry, which is untrue. Troy's parents are Lloyd and Pat Gentry. Eddie, Troy, and John were in a band called Early Tymz. Eddie and Troy continued to perform after John left to pursue a solo career. The duo went through several name changes before they decided to call themselves Montgomery Gentry. Eddie Montgomery is bald and seemingly always wears a hat. Eddie also has a habit of twirling his microphone on stage, which has become somewhat of a signature.

The band has released five CDs including "Some People Change" which was released in 2006
