I'll Close My Eyes Lyrics

how can a man
lie next to a woman
a woman who loves him
and still feel alone
there was a day
i lite up your whole world
now the suns hanging low
and the skys growing colder
i'll close my eyes
pretend this aint a happening
i'll close my eyes
those taillights i'll never see
i just can't bare
to see this house empty
as empty as the hole in my chest
where my heart used to be
i'll close my eyes
so i don't have to watch you leave

you left your ring on the dining room table
you come home late
we don't even fight
once we were lovers
now i hardly know you
you turned down the light
night after night
i laid by your side
i'll close my eyes
pretend this ain't a happening
i'll close my eyes
and those taillights i'll never see
i just can't bear
to see this house empty
as empty as the whole in my chest
where my heart used to me
i'll close my eyes
so i don't have to watch you leave
i just can't bear to see this house empty
as empty as the whole in my chest
where my heart used to be
i'll close my eyes
so i don't have to watch you leave
so i don't have to watch you leave
