I'll Fly Away Lyrics

Some glad morning when this life is o're
I'll fly away
To a home on God's celestial shore
I'll fly awayI'll fly away, oh glory
I'll fly away - in the morning
When I die, hallelujah by and by
I'll fly awayWhen the shadows of this life have grown
I'll fly away
Like a bird from prison bars has flown
I'll fly awayI'll fly away, oh glory
I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by
I'll fly awayJust a few more weary days and then
I'll fly away
To a land where joy shall never end
I'll fly awayI'll fly away, oh glory
I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by

Oh, I'll fly away, fly away

The Statler Brothers were an American country music vocal group founded in 1955 in Staunton, Virginia. Originally performing gospel music at local churches, the group billed themselves as The Four Star Quartet, and later The Kingsmen. In 1963, when the song "Louie, Louie" by the garage rock band also called The Kingsmen became famous, the group elected to bill themselves as The Statler Brothers. Despite the name, only two members of the group (Don and Harold Reid) are actual brothers and none have the surname of "Statler".
