I'll Thank You All My Life Lyrics

For overlooking what I've been
And saying you love me
You'll never know just what it meansThat from my past
I'm free for seeing the real me
Believe my lonely gaitest guys
For looking right into my heart
I'll thank you all my lifeI saw you in a crowd that night
You were different from the start
I fell for you but never hoped that I could winYour heart, I'll ask the good Lord up above
I'll ask him every night
Who make me worthy of your love
I'll thank you all my lifeOh I'll love you a thousand years
And faithful I will be for giving me a love that's real
A dream that I can seeOnce down the wrong road I was led
By faithless love and life
For making me believe again
I'll thank you all my lifeFor house that's ours
And I don't care if it is large or small

Some boys and girls that I don't care
If they are short or tallFor overlooking what I've been
My past and wasted life
And giving all of this to me
I'll thank you all my life

Jean Shepard (born November 21, 1933 in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma as Ollie Imogene Shepard)was one of the first female vocalists in the country music field to become a major star in the early 1950's. Shepard's family moved west to Visalia, California in hopes of a better life. In high school, Shepard formed the Melody Ranch Girls, which became locally famous. One night, Country star Hank Thompson saw Shepard performing at a show and liked what he heard. With Thompson's help, Shepard was able to get a recording contract with Capitol Records in 1952.
