I'll Wait for You Lyrics

I don't mind this empty room
For lonesome shiny days
It don't seem so full of darkness
It's the lonely nights I care about
Girl, since you've been gone
I can't wait for you to come back homeYour love is sweeter than the finest wine
Only you can fill this heart of mine
So I'll wait for you
(No matter what, baby)
I'll wait for you
(Oh, come what may)
I'll wait for you
I'll wait, and wait, and wait . . .I'll wait for you, darling, I swear
I'll wait for you, darling, I swearCan't sleep at night, I'm pacing back & forth
Hoping soon to see you walking through the door
I'll wait for you, no matter what, baby
I'll wait for you, oh, come what may
I'll wait for you, no matter what

I'll wait and wait and wait . . .

The Originals were a successful Motown R&B and soul group during the 1960s and 1970s. The group found modest success in the first half of the decade, often working as backup singers for recordings by artists such as Jimmy Ruffin ("What Becomes of the Broken Hearted", 1966) and David Ruffin ("My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)", 1969). The Originals found their biggest success under the guidance of Motown legend Marvin Gaye, who co-wrote and produced two of the group's biggest singles, "Baby I'm For Real", and "The Bells".
