I'm Beginning To See The Light Lyrics

I never cared much for moonlit skies
I never wink back at fireflies
But now that the stars are in your eyes
I'm beginning to see the lightI never went in for afterglow
Or candlelight on the mistletoe
But now when you turn the lamp down low
I'm beginning to see the lightUsed to ramble through the park
Shadow boxing in the dark
Then you came and caused a spark
That's a four-alarm fire, nowI never made love by lantern shine
I never saw rainbows in my wine
But now that your lips are burning mine
I'm beginning to see the lightI never cared much for moonlit skies
I never wink back at fireflies
But now that the stars are in your eyes
I'm beginning to see the lightI never went in for afterglow
Or candlelight on the mistletoe
But now when you turn the lamp down low

I'm beginning to see the lightUsed to ramble through the park
Shadow boxing in the dark
Then you came and caused a spark
That's a four-alarm fire, nowI never made love by lantern shine
I never saw rainbows in my wine
But now that your lips are burning mine
I'm beginning to see the lightNow that the stars are in your eyes
I'm beginning to see the light
Now when you turn the lamp down low
I'm beginning to see the lightUsed to ramble through the park
Shadow boxing in the dark
Then you came and caused a spark
That's a four-alarm fire, nowNow that your lips are burning mine
I'm beginning to see the light
I'm beginning to see the light
I'm beginning to see the lightNow that your lips are burning mine
I'm beginning to see the light

Louis Armstrong (1901-1971) was a trumpet player, singer, and bandleader, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists in the history of jazz. Armstrong was born and brought up in New Orleans, a culturally diverse town with a unique musical mix of creole, ragtime, marching bands, and blues. Although from an early age he was able to play music professionally, he didn't travel far from New Orleans until 1922, when he went to Chicago to join his mentor, King Oliver.
