Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Im gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge
Im gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refugePeter was preachin the gospel
He was standing with eleven men
Im sure youll wind up in heaven
If you only wanna come inIm gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge
Im gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refugePeter was preachin the gospel

He was standing with eleven men
Im sure youll wind up in heaven
If you only wanna come inIm gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge
Im gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refugeLet me tell you, my sinner
If you wanna join in the band
You got to be converted, son
Give that preacher your handWell, Im gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge
Im on a run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refugeWell the Holy Ghost is a mystery
Paul said itl in the land
Were strong of heart at Damascus
Trying to stay in Jesus handIm gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge
Im gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refugeNow the 12th chapter of Revelation
long about the 13th verse
The dragon hurled down by the preacher bound
and the dragon saw his death in hellIm gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge
Im gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refugeWell around that feastin table
When Judas was about to leave
The apostle prayed down in his heart
That the Holy Ghost would set you freeIm gonna run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge
Im on a run, Im gonna run
Im gonna run to the city of refuge

Blind Willie Johnson (Willie Johnson, Brenham, Texas, January 22, 1897 – Beaumont, Texas, September 18, 1945) was an American singer and guitarist whose music straddled the border between blues and spirituals. While the lyrics of all of his songs were religious, his music drew from both sacred and blues traditions. Among musicians, he is considered one of the greatest slide or bottleneck guitarists, as well as one of the most revered figures of depression-era gospel music.
