I'm Just a Lucky So-and-So Lyrics

As I walk down the street
Seems everyone I meet
Gives me a friendly hello.
I guess I'm just a lucky so and soThe birds in every tree
Are all so neighborly.
They sing wherever I go.
I guess I'm just a lucky so and soIf you should ask me the amount
In my bank account
I'd have to confess that I'm slippin'
But that don't worry me, confidentiallyI've got a dream that's a pippin'
And when the day is through
Each night I hurry to
A home where love waits, I know.I guess I'm just a lucky so and soAnd when the day is through
Each night I hurry to
A home where love waits, I know.
I guess I'm just a lucky so and soI'm just a lucky, lucky so and so

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 in Newport News, VA – June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Song), was one of the most influential jazz singers of the 20th Century, the winner of thirteen Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Art presented by President Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Medal of Freedom presented by President George H. W. Bush. Gifted with a three-octave vocal range, she was noted for her purity of tone, near faultless phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
