Imaginary Friend Lyrics

Both born of lust and deceit
We are lovers who will never meet
Once fate put us in the same room
When you knew not of me nor I of you
Something inside diesAnd we don't stand up to scrutiny
But we spin by and by, the by
A great pain finds, numb haven, humdrum
And we spin by and by, the by
Something inside dies, something inside dies
Something inside diesMe and my imaginary friend
Have been going round
The bend for some time now
For some time nowAnd me and Timmy Turd
Are having trouble being heard
Through the background hum
Above the background humAnd me and Barry C are
Going down to Connah's Quay
For all your telecaster dreams

A telecaster is all you needMe and my imaginary friend
Have been going round the
Bend for some time now
For some time nowAnd me and Timmy Turd
Are getting trouble being heard
Through the background hum
Above the background humAnd me and Barry C we're
Going down to Connah's Quay
For all your telecaster dreams
A telecaster is all you need
Something inside dies

Catatonia were an alternative rock band from Cardiff, Wales formed in 1992. They consisted of Cerys Matthews (vocals), Mark Roberts (guitar), Owen Powell (guitar), Paul Jones (bass) and Aled Richards (drums). They split in 2001. Catatonia was formed in 1992, reputedly after songwriter Mark Roberts heard Cerys busking in Cardiff city centre. They had considerable success, their most famous hits being "Mulder and Scully", "Road Rage" and "Dead From The Waist Down". In September 2001, Cerys announced her departure from Catatonia after bouts of exhaustion and anxiety.
