In Bluer Skies Lyrics

What needs must be
I realized
I'm walking out
From blackened skiesYou say belief
Is in our eyes
But how can I believe
In blind liesI'm counting
On your heavy heart
Could it keep me
From falling apartHave we been born to follow
Tied to a bitter rein
Or will we begin to grow
Bound by this simple chainWill we evolve tonight
Sparkle brittle stars
Can we dissolve tonight
Held by your hungry armsI'm counting
On your heavy heart
Could it keep me

From falling apartI would be ready
Ready to go
Was your heart heavy
Heavy with sorrowHad you been heavy
We could have both been grown
Now your hearts heavy
Heavy with sorrowI'm counting
On your heavy heart
Could it keep me
From falling apartWhat needs have been
You'll realize
I've found myself
In bluer skiesI know belief
Is in your eyes
We can't believe
In blind lightI'm counting
On your heavy heart
To keep me
From falling apart

Echo & the Bunnymen are a British post-punk band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of Ian McCulloch (of The Crucial Three), Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson. There are many stories, probably apocryphal, that the quartet was completed by a drum machine known as "Echo". By the time of their debut album, 1980's Crocodiles - a moderate UK hit - the drum machine had been replaced by Pete de Freitas.
