In the Factory Lyrics

It's hard to believe
In the factory
How they made you
And they made meMade of ideas
Made to think and feel
Do you feel too much?
Do you feel too real? You're so full of life
What do you want with mine?
How I loved you once
How I loved you twiceDid I have to pay
Such a heavy price?
How I loved you more
Than my own lifeJust to be
You and me
Almost real
Almost freeIt's hard to believe
In the factory
How the satin feels

And the diamonds gleamHow they made our eyes
Made our hearts and minds
How they built us to
Leave it all behindJust to be
You and me
Almost real
Almost freeJust to be
You and me
Almost real
Almost free

Marianne Faithfull (born 29 December 1946 in London) is an English singer-songwriter and actress whose career spans more than four decades. Her early work in pop and rock music in the 1960s was overshadowed by her struggle with drug abuse in the 1970s. After a long commercial absence, she returned late in 1979 with the highly acclaimed album, Broken English. Faithfull's subsequent solo work, often critically-acclaimed, has at times been rather overshadowed by her personal history. From 1966 to 1970, she had a highly-publicised romantic relationship with Rolling Stones' lead singer Mick Jagger.
