In the Mouth a Desert Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Can you treat it like an oil well
When it's underground, out of sight?
And if the sight is just a whore sign
Will it make enough sense to me?Pretend the table is a trust knot
We'll put our labels down, favors down
I'll watch some yards of twine unravel
And you'll never get it backIt's what I want, it's what I want
(It's what I want, twine comes down)
It's what I want, it's what I want
(It's what I want )Don't you know, I could make you try

Make you try, make you try, make you tryWell, I've been down, the king of it
It is all I have, I've been down
And I could wait to hear the words
They're diamond sharp todayIt's what I want, it's what I want
(It's what I want, twine comes down)
It's what I want, it's what I want
(It's what I want )Don't you know, I could make you try
Make you try, make you try, make you tryWell, I've been down, well, I've been down
Down, down, down, down, down
Down, down, down, down, down

Pavement are an American indie rock band that formed in Stockton, California in 1989. For most of the period to 1999, the band consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals, guitar), Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg (guitar, vocals), Mark Ibold (bass), Steve West (drums) and Bob Nastanovich (percussion, vocals). During that period, and since, they have frequently been described as one of the most influential bands to emerge from the American underground of the '90s. While their split in 1999 was reportedly rather acrimonious, they undertook a well-received reunion tour during 2010.
