In the Satellite Rides a Star Lyrics

Time knows you're done
Time as you fall
I'm in the middle, letters you've signed
In your cursive, cursive styleGoing down tonight
It's different for boys and girls
I've got your number, I know who you are
You're a satellite on the worldAnd I feel it slowing
And I feel it slowing downAnd I feel it slowing
And I feel it slowing downYou didn't have the right
To go so many a mile
Ain't a good woman who rolls out of sight
She could honestly stay a whileSo roll on as you like
Yeah, roll in the sand like a stone
I've got your number, I know who you were
You were a satellite all aloneAnd I feel it slowing
And I feel it slowing downAnd I feel it slowing
And I feel it slowing downAnd I feel it slowing
And I feel it slowing downAnd I feel it slowing

And I feel it slowing downAnd in the satellite rides a star
And in the satellite rides a star
And in the satellite rides a star

Old 97's are an alt-country band originally based in Dallas, Texas, USA. The group formed in 1993 and took their name from a song popularized by Johnny Cash, "Wreck of the Old '97". They describe themselves as a rock band with influences as varied as The Kinks, The Beatles, Pixies, David Bowie, X, and Merle Haggard. The band often performs songs made famous by the latter two musicians, and has interspersed a number of these on their eight releases since 1994.
