Indian Summer Lyrics

There's a full moon in the sky
It's got a hold on me, I'm hypnotized
Like your love it's getting stronger
Please keep my heart a little longerIndian summer is on it's way
It's cool at night and hot all day
Ain't no black clouds filled with rain
Santa Ana wind blew them all to MaineBaby takes my hand
She says she understands
About the way I feel
She knows this love is realI'm a wide open spaced cowboy
I got lazy ways, I got some hidden joy
Motorcycle and tons of R.P.M.
Ain't gonna wait around 'till it's here againBaby takes my hand
She says she understands
About the way I feel
She knows my love is realAnd Indian summer is on it's way
It's cool at night and hot all day
There ain't no black clouds filled with rain

Santa Ana wind blew them all to Maine
Blew them all away[Incomprehensible]

Poco, founded in 1968 by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Richie Furay and Jim Messina (both inducted 1997 with Buffalo Springfield), was one of the earliest in the "country rock" genre that was later commercially popularized by bands such as the Eagles. The band was completed by Rusty Young (pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo and mandolin) Randy Meisner on bass and George Grantham on drums. Poco's 1969 debut, "Pickin' Up the Pieces" (the title being a reference to the break-up of Buffalo Springfield), received some critical acclaim but generated very litttle enthusiasm commercially.
