Is This What I Get for Loving You Lyrics

There's been a lot of talk around
That you've been seen with a certain Barbie
And now I'm so afraid I'm losing youOh baby, don't tell me you don't want my love
I couldn't give it to just anybody
Baby, won't you tell me it's not true?Don't leave me baby
Don't tell me it's over after I trusted you
And did my best to make you happyIs this what I get for loving you, baby?
Is this what I get for loving you, baby?
There was a night when you held me tight
You said you'd always love me
You said you'd never hurt meWhat would there be left for me?
It's such a cruel world to be alone in
I always needed you to look out for meAnd baby, I'm gonna miss your lovely arms
They're the only arms I feel at home in
Don't you know how lonely I'm gonna be?Don't leave me baby
Don't tell me it's over after I trusted you
And did my best to make you happyIs this what I get for loving you, baby?
Is this what I get for loving you, baby?

There was a night when you held me tight and
You said you'd always love me
You said you'd never hurt meDon't leave me, baby
Is this what I get for loving you, baby?
Is this what I get for loving you, baby?
There was a night when you held me tight and
You said you'd always love me
You said you'd never hurt me

Marianne Faithfull (born 29 December 1946 in London) is an English singer-songwriter and actress whose career spans more than four decades. Her early work in pop and rock music in the 1960s was overshadowed by her struggle with drug abuse in the 1970s. After a long commercial absence, she returned late in 1979 with the highly acclaimed album, Broken English. Faithfull's subsequent solo work, often critically-acclaimed, has at times been rather overshadowed by her personal history. From 1966 to 1970, she had a highly-publicised romantic relationship with Rolling Stones' lead singer Mick Jagger.
