It Comes as No Surprise Lyrics

I'll leave when I don't understand
All the things I need
Will slip right through my hands
My love, please don't get too close
All the things I need to say
Just might make me chokeThe anger in your eyes
It comes as no surprise(It's gonna be alright) Curled up on the floor
(It's gonna be alright) Like so many times before
(It's gonna be alright) I don't know how much more
(It's gonna be alright) I can take, my love
(It's gonna be alright) I don't know which is worse
(It's gonna be alright) I'll keep you on a pedestal
(It's gonna be alright) And let you fall to Earth
The anger in your eyes
It comes as no surprise
The laughter and the lies
It comes as no surpriseOur fathers cried, we showed you how
We learned to lie on our own somehow

And help always comes much too late
I've burst all my blisters
And learned how to miss her
Well, I guess it's no surprise(It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright)
No surprise
(It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright)
It's no surprise
(It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright)
Well, it's no surprise, in joy or pain
When I close my eyes, I'm back again
In hell, I'll be fine on my own
There's no lessons I've learned
Only bridges I've burned
Why are you so surprised?
There's no surprise at all
Instead of sleeping I only lie
And I try to turn the nightmares into dreams
That will one day come true
Ah, you've pushed me to this
When you push, I resist
And you still seem so surprised.(It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright)
(It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright)
(It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright)
(It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be)The anger in your eyes
It comes as no surprise
The laughter and the lies
It comes as no surprise

Big Wreck was a neo-progressive hard rock band of the late 1990s.

The band was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1995 by vocalist Ian Thornley, guitarist Brian Doherty, bassist Dave Henning and drummer Forrest Williams, who met as students at the Berklee College of Music. After several years of gigging in Boston and Cambridge, the band signed to a major label and released its debut album In Loving Memory Of... in 1997. The single The Oaf was a major Top Ten hit for the band that year.

Due to Thornley's Canadian nationality, the band's biggest commercial success was actually in Canada rather than the United States. The album's subsequent singles, Blown Wide Open and That Song, were not as successful on the American charts as The Oaf had been, but in Canada they were both Top Ten hits.

In October of 2001, Big Wreck played a special show at Toronto's Roy Thompson Hall accompanied by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Uzume Taiko Ensemble of drummers, with The Tragically Hip's Paul Langlois and Robby Baker also making appearances.

The band's second album The Pleasure and the Greed (released in 2001) was marred by poor marketing and was not as big a hit as their debut album, especially in the United States. The band subsequently broke up a year later in 2002.

Thornley moved back to Toronto, launching the band Thornley. Doherty has gone on to be in the indie band Death of 8, but the other band members never emerged with new projects.

Ian and Brian rekindled their friendship, which lead to a reunion in 2011

New album titled "Albatross" released on iTunes on March 6, 2012

Subsequent 2012 Canadian tour announced.
