Why do I do just as you say?<br /> Why must I just give you your way?<br /> Why do I sigh?<br /> Why do I try to forget? It must have been that something lovers call "Fate"<br /> Kept on saying I had to wait<br /> I saw them all<br /> Just couldn't fall till we metIt had to be you, it had to be you<br /> I wandered around and finally found the somebody who<br /> Could make me be true, could make me be blue<br /> And even be glad just to be sad thinkin' of youSome others I've seen might never be mean<br /> Might never be cross or try to be boss, but they wouldn't do<br /> For nobody else gave me a thrill<br /> With all your faults, I love you still<br /> It had to be you, wonderful you, it had to be you<br /> <br /> Songwriters<br /> MENEGHELLO/MAGNAGHI/MOTTAPublished by<br /> Lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC, Warner/Chappell Music, Inc., Universal Music Publishing GroupLyrics provided by TANCODEhttps://damnlyrics.com/" readonly=""/>

It Had to Be You (From "Annie Hall") [1977] Lyrics

Why do I do just as you say?
Why must I just give you your way?
Why do I sigh?
Why do I try to forget? It must have been that something lovers call "Fate"
Kept on saying I had to wait
I saw them all
Just couldn't fall till we metIt had to be you, it had to be you
I wandered around and finally found the somebody who
Could make me be true, could make me be blue
And even be glad just to be sad thinkin' of youSome others I've seen might never be mean
Might never be cross or try to be boss, but they wouldn't do
For nobody else gave me a thrill
With all your faults, I love you still
It had to be you, wonderful you, it had to be you

Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (born May 2, 1903 in Tacoma, Washington; died October 14, 1977 in Madrid, Spain) was an American Grammy Award winning singer and Academy Award winning actor who was one of the first true multimedia stars, from 1934 to 1954 Crosby held a nearly unrivaled command of record sales, radio ratings and motion picture grosses. Widely recognized as one of the most popular musical acts in history, Crosby is also credited as being the major inspiration for most of the male singers of the era that followed him, including Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin.
