It Takes a Lot To Laugh, It Takes a Train To Cry Lyrics

Well, I ride on a mail train, baby
Can't buy a thrill
I've been up all night, baby
Leanin' on the window sillIf I die
On top of the hill
And if I don't make it
You know my baby willDon't the moon look good, mama
Shinin' down through the trees?
Don't the brakeman look good, mama
Flagging down the double E?Don't the sun look good
Goin' down over the sea?
Don't my gal look fine
When she's comin' after me?Wintertime is coming
The windows are filled with frost
I went to tell everybody
But I could not get acrossWell, I wanna be your lover, baby
I don't wanna be your boss
Don't say I never warned you

If your train gets lost

Al Kooper (born Alan Peter Kuperschmidt February 5, 1944, Brooklyn, New York) is an American songwriter, producer and musician, probably best known for organizing the group Blood, Sweat & Tears, though he didn't stay with the group long enough to share its popularity. His first musical success was as a 14-year-old guitarist in the Royal Teens, best known for their novelty blues riff, "Short Shorts". In 1960, he joined the song-writing team of Bob Brass and Irwin Levine, who wrote the hit, "This Diamond Ring", for Gary Lewis And The Playboys. When he was 21, he moved to Greenwich Village.
