It's Nobody's Fault But Mine Lyrics

It's nobody's fault but mine
Nobody's fault but min
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lostI have a bible in my home
I have a bible in my home
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lostHmm, father, he taught me how to read
Father, he taught me how to read
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lost
Nobody's fault but mineAh, Lord, Lord
Nobody's fault but mine
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lostAh, I have a bible of my own
I have a bible of my own
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lostOh, mother, she taught me how to read
Mother, she taught me how to read
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lost
Nobody's fault but mineAh, Lord, Lord
Nobody's fault but mine
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lostAnd sister she taught me how to read
Sister she taught me how to read

If I don't read it, my soul'd be lost
Nobody's fault but mineAh, hmm, Lord, Lord
Nobody's fault but mine
If I don't read it, my soul'd be lost, hmm

Blind Willie Johnson (Willie Johnson, Brenham, Texas, January 22, 1897 – Beaumont, Texas, September 18, 1945) was an American singer and guitarist whose music straddled the border between blues and spirituals. While the lyrics of all of his songs were religious, his music drew from both sacred and blues traditions. Among musicians, he is considered one of the greatest slide or bottleneck guitarists, as well as one of the most revered figures of depression-era gospel music.
