It's a Ruse Lyrics

What do you know
How do you do
I like the way you look at me with those eyes
Confidently wise
Pleasure I'm sure I've met you before
But baby not here maybe it was some other timeThis aint no kind of place for you
You better move around
A' better get up while you can
There aint no time to waste in here
When you got so much you forget what you hadOoo, don't follow me down, it's a ruse
Well they will lather your face
as they watch you waste away
Don't come around here no more, lookin' for me
Yea, no don't you come aroundDon't you cry mama's here to dry your eyes
No more tears now im gonna make you forget
Its over my pet, those bad cats catch ya
Cause it's through, woo woo, to the deepest part of youThis aint no kind of life for you
You better move around

If you can trust your bartender
With a smile you are so tight
That was a big better fighter
Not everybody can be a contenderOoo, don't follow me down
It's a ruse
Well they will lather your face
as they watch you waste away
Don't come around here no more
Lookin' for me, yeaa
No no, don't you come aroundThere's plenty things you could do
You don't have to sing the blues
To break your heart, can't you find a better handle
Plenty of stars in the sky
You don't have to be alright
They know you sell one big, big, dipperOooo, don't follow me down
I tell you it's a ruse
Yea they will lather your face as they watch you lose your taste
Don't come around here no more
Lookin' for me yea
No don't you dare follow me down

Rosey is a pseudonym of Nancy Joy Kaye (aka Nancy Kaye, former major-label talent scout), a Los Angeles, USA singer, who first surfaced on the Bridget Jones's Diary soundtrack, with the hypnotic funk-hop track "Love." Rosey possesses a husky alto that sounds like a cross between Beth Orton and Fiona Apple, but her soulful debut shows no signs of the ethereality of those women, continuing instead with the hybrid of funk, hip-hop, and rock on "Love.
