It's a Sin Lyrics

When I look back upon my life
It's always with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blameFor everything I long to do
No matter where or when or who
There's one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin, it's a sinEverything I've ever done
Everything I'll ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sinAt school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed, oh noFor everything I long to do
No matter where or when or who
There's one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin, it's a sinEverything I've ever done
Everything I'll ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to

It's a sinFather forgive me, I tried not to do it
Turned over a new leaf, then tore right through it
Whatever you taught me, I didn't believe it
Father, you fought me 'cause I didn't care
And I still don't understand, noSo I look back upon my life
Forever with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blameFor everything I long to do
No matter where or when or who
There's one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin, it's a sinEverything I've ever done
Everything I'll ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sinIt's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin, it's a sin
Oh yeah, it's a sin, it's a sinSin

Founded in 1989 by Kai Hansen in Hamburg, Germany after leaving Helloween, Gamma Ray borrowed straight from the Helloween classics, and continued to pioneer Hansen's style of power metal. After four years with Helloween, Kai Hansen decided to leave the band at the height of their career. He then went on to do some studio work with Blind Guardian. Kai and his friend Ralf Scheepers from Tyran' Pace decided to start a project. They recruited bassist Uwe Wessel and drummer Mathias Burchard. The resulting sound was very close to Helloween's power metal style.
